Sea of Shoes.. :)

My Ann Taylor black Heels went bad.. as I wore them everyday pretty much at work! :( They were sooo comfortable- I am still debating if I should get it repaired or should I just toss them away in my Good Will pile! What do you think?

I was in really bad need of shoes since last month, finally ordered a few new pairs now.. yay

Here are the few I bought!

I bought these very basic colors this time.. I love each one of them, they are very comfortable and don't make any noise or didn't give any blisters..  I am enjoying them very much.

In my previous post about the 7 Special Shoes you can see my other shoes too!

30 MUST HAVES for Office Emergency Fashion Kit

In my previous post back in April, I mentioned about the Fashion Emergency Kit..

In this post I am going to write in detail about the kit you can either create on your own or make it yourself.

On your way to work, lets say you realized your skirt's hem has fallen apart, no problem! You can use the fashion tapes and safety pins to fix it. or let's say you spilled your coffee over your shirt- no worries your fashion kit has a tide stain removing pen.. or, your cute new shoes are giving you blisters but you have meeting all day long and gotta run around - problem solved.. you have a shoe insole pair in your fashion kit. :)

Here is my list of essentials for my DIY fashion emergency kit:

  1. Deodorant Stain Removing Sponge: I bought mine from bed bath & beyond- click here, for the one I bought. The container store also has it for same price range if you would like to check there!
  2. Static Guard: You can buy it from here.
  3. Fashion Tapes: These are the tapes with double sided adhesive and clear in color.. These can be used to close blouse gaps, stop slipping bust lines, tack up dropping hems or anchor peeking bra straps or secure shoulder pads. add body jewelry or tack shoulder pads or anchor a wrap skirt or stop gapping blouse front or keep scarves in place- keep belt ends flat or anchor revealing necklines and much more.. I have used these in sooo many scenarios.. I have one in my purse at all times and one in my emergency kit at my desk. You can buy it here.
  4. Sewing Kit: You can find several options for these.. This one has pretty much all the things you would need. I just use the one I got in hotel room once and didn't end up using! comes in handy at times :)
  5. Mini Lint removing roller: I use this one, but you can find it easily at the travel section of any grocery store or bed bath and beyond or even target.
  6. To go Stain Remover Pen: I love the tide stain removing Pen for my regular use.. to remove spots once in a while here and there.. bought mine from amazon.. link here
  7. Wrinkle Remover: Another thing which I love in my kit is: Downey wrikle remover spray.. again this you can find at any local store or here, this makes my clothes look fresh and wrinkle free.
  8. Safety Pins: Every working girls best friend.. :) Safety pins.. anything goes wrong these come in very handy! you can get it here or buy from your local store!
  9. Bobby Pins: Another best friend.. buy here or from your local store. For me, I have wavy hair so the days I don't straighten my hair or if I am having a bad-hair day then these bobby pins come in very handy after braiding my hair.. it makes me look more neat & sharp.
  10. Hair Ties: Ofcourse, you can't miss having these too in your kit. Buy here
  11. Travel Size Lotion: I love EOS for its smells, bought mine from here
  12. Lip balm: Again I love EOS for this, bought mine from costco, but you can buy from here too
  13. Mini pre-pasted toothbrush: these come in handy for fresh breath.. I bought mine here
  14. Breath-mints or chewing-gum: I like the good old Altoids.
  15. Facial Tissues: I have oily skin so I buy these in bulk and keep 1 around me everywhere.. bought mine here
  16. Mini-deodorant: I rarely leave house without deodorant but, when I do it feels weird! so I have one in my emergency kit just in case! Buy it at your grocery store or amazon!
  17. Hair Brush: I love my revlon travel hair brush, but this one is pretty popular too.
  18. Baby Powder: I keep a mini pack of baby powder- just to feel fresh or put some in my shoe during the hot days. ;P
  19. Mouthwash: Again for quick feeling fresh tool.
  20. Hand Sanitizer: I love keeping my hands clean so I am obsessed with having a hand-sanitizer around me at all times.
  21. Q-tips: These I use to remove any smudge or fix my manicure in emergency.
  22. Tampons or Maxi Pads: because sometimes we forget
  23. Blister Treatment: these band-aids come in very handy when you get blisters due to cute new shoes.. buy here.
  24. Blister Block: I like this one
  25. Shoe Insoles: these are the reason I can wear heels.. I buy mine from target or payless but they are available everywhere..
  26. Instant Heel Tip Replacement Caps: My heels break often so I fix them myself using these.. Sometimes at work in emergency, so I have 1 pair here at work just in case.
  27. Dry Shampoo: I LOVE this one, I have 1 full size bottle at home too.. they come in handy when I am in rush and have no time to wash my hair.
  28. Snap Razor: I always have this one in my purse for emergencies.. its so tiny and cute and does the job perfectly.
  29. Mini Treats: for when you have to skip lunch, these are filling and healthy- I usually have some edamame seeds or some pretzels, popcorn or some yogurt or fruit.
  30. Basic Medicines: We have a medical box at my company but, if you don't then it's always the best idea to keep some basic medicines around, like some band-aids, advil, antiacids, pain-killers etc. it's a personal choice.
Anyway, this is my list of things, do you have something interesting you would like to share from your emergency kit?

Please feel free to drop a comment/suggestion.

Have a great rest of the week..

Trip to Seattle & Portland

Recently I visited Seattle and Portland for the Memorial Day Long Weekend..

A friend of mine saw my planning ans suggested I add travel tips in the blog too! So here I am sharing my planning and things I did there

I was going for 4 days arriving Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday- we left on Wednesday early morning and went directly to work.

This what I planned and done about 95% of what planned.. We stayed at the Hilton in Bellevue and since we had the Hilton Honors membership we got on a special floor with fresh breakfast and dinner appetizers. The hotel wasn't that far from the Seattle downtown!

Things to do in Seattle:
·  Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour in Everett --> about 45 mins drive from Seattle --> it was sooo worth it! I bought several things from the Boeing store.
--> make sure to buy the tickets online- you can save 2 bucks a ticket and they sell out pretty quick as well.
·  Washington State Ferries  -->  maps guide for ferries is here its cheap and worth it- the view from the ferry is breathtaking.

On the ferry

·  Chihuly Garden and Glass --> Saturday evening it's open till 10PM included in Citypass

·  The Seattle Great Wheel -->  breath-taking views.
·  Clubbing--> which we ended up not going- instead we went to the bar in our hotel with friends which was amazing!
·  Kerry Park
·  Green Lake Park --> Sunday morning before breakfast
·  Argosy Cruises (checked availability- we have to book this in advance so please let me know and I can book it if everyone wants to go) --> included in Citypass
·  Space Needle --> included in Citypass
·  Pike Place Market --> Sunday evening
o Piroshky Piroshky à Bakery
o Beachers Handmade Cheese
o Starbucks à 1st one

Restaurants:

if you like raw oysters, Seattle is famous for that incase you would wanna go check it out here is the link:

Other good restaurants --> which I was told not to miss :D
·       Paseo Cuban Sandwiches
·       Serious Pie à Famous Pizza place
·       Lola à Greek Breakfast place

·       Local 360 à American breakfast place

You can buy the city pass from here:

Portland:

Few things that are famous in Portland are as below:

On the way to Portland from Seattle we went to the Mt. St. Helens national Monument.. it was worth the drive and time.. So beautiful and amazing how nature has evolved in just a decade!

Mt. Saint Helen's National Monument

Tuesday morning did the Columbia River Gorge Hike which is about 20 mins from Portland.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters  is one famous coffee place in Portland
They also have the famous Voodoo Donuts which are very famous..

Hope this helps.. Please throw in some suggestions and add ons or changes to this for other viewers or for when I visit next time!

If you want me to help you for your travel planning, I will be more than happy to do so! Please email me if interested.

Happy Friday! :)

LOFT Haul Post

I love putting up Haul posts, showing what I recently bought and giving out my experience with the stuff..

Ended up keeping the following items ones:

Eyelet Trim Tee

I bought the colors black and white in my regular XS size and both fit so well..
I love them both :) Here is the picture of me wearing the white one on my trip to Seattle.. Although you have to be careful in washing it.. wash it in the dedicates cycle and air dry them!

Necklace in the picture is from Etsy Store: BipAndBop - she has nice collection of jewelry.

Here is the necklace that I got from her is in Pink:
:

Agate slice pendant

It is very beautiful PINK and I have always gotten compliments on this whenever I wore. :) I love it!

Other thing I got from LOFT are:

Metallic Tassel Bracelet

This bracelet had mixed review that it's not sturdy and all but, it's the best bracelet I have worn.. I enjoy is soooo much. It's cute sturdy and looks very expensive. I am very happy I got it!

They are sold out of the exact one but there are many similar ones on LOFT website right now!

Bright tassel bead necklace

I debated about this one for quite a bit but then ended up returning it.. as it doesn't look anything special!

Floral Lace Flare Dress

I had REALLY high hopes for this dress too but, it turned out to be a bummer.. Because it requires only DRY-CLEAN and the material is such that it will tear apart easily. so, ended-up returning it.

Loved this one too, and ended up keeping this cute skirt.. you can never have enough black skirts :)
I also got the scallop trim shell shirt in coral color but, it did not fit right so I returned it..

1 thing about the scallop skirt is that- it's a bit short for work and also, it tears apart easily from the scallop so I am debating if I should keep it or not.

Never had anything in eggplant color, so got one..

And gotta tell you I love it actually.. Have worn it several times and enjoyed wearing it..

I also liked these items from LOFT but, weren't for me :(

So, this was all my shopping from LOFT this time..

I have done much more shopping which I should be posting soon.. :)

Hope you like reading my posts and I hope they are useful.
Thank you for visiting. Have a good one!
